Pi update

Postby pumpkinpi » Tue Sep 16, 2014 2:47 pm

Hi everyone. I know I haven't been contributing much lately, but I have been around. I check in daily, silently sharing in your joys, comforting you in your sorrows, commiserating in your BMRs, and being challenged by your debates.

I'm in the middle of the most intense 6 weeks of my career, with two big projects--one culminating at the end of the month, and the other beginning. For both, there is a lot to prepare. And of course, without being relieved of my regular duties. But that's just boring old work.

Otherwise, life has been fantastic. Buster turned 5 this month. He continues to amaze me every day. Rooster is a spunky, spirited, 2.5 year old. I can't believe she's the same age Buster was when she was born.

I'm continuing my enjoyment of biking in to work. I'm at the point where it's not that I bike when I can--I drive when I have to. I get angry when something keeps me in the car, be it severe weather, an offsite meeting, or something too big to haul.

So that's the quick update, back to work. I'll try not to be so scarce around here!

Hi pumpkin!

No worries about being scarce here. I daresay we all know what that's like.

Before I forget though I want to say based on FB pics I think Rooster is the most adorable toddler I've ever laid eyes on, almost to the point where I worry about having kids of my own someday cause they won't be that cute. So congrats, I guess. ;)
Yes, I have a life. It's quite different from yours.

Yeah, when she's acting up I tell her she's lucky she's not ugly.

But seriously, thank you! Here are some recent pics.

Well, I'm about 2 weeks away from the ens of the most intense period, but the craziness will continue until November. Right now I'm on my way to a colloquium at the US state department through Wednesday. It may include a meeting with the education deputy of Senator Franken's staff ( and maybe Al/Stuart Smalley himself? )

To prepare, I'm at the airport early, enjoying an asparagus and brie sandwich with an Argentinian moscato.

Wish me luck!
