Rommie, that swing in temperature is nothing new. Happens practically every year, we call it the January thaw.
I just started laughing to myself, thought of the story from a couple of years back. Leo DiCaprio amazed by a "chinook" (warming wind) in Alberta. IIRC, locals played it up as something rare, but actually happens annually. Leo then included his experience with the event in a speech about climate change.
