Public Service Announcement

Postby SciFiFisher » Sat Oct 12, 2019 3:57 pm

To all my friends, frenemies, family, and others whom I do not actively despise.

GET YOUR FLU SHOT!!

Most of you are intelligent enough not to need me to explain all the really good and really bad reasons for why you should get your flu shot every year. Flu season is upon us. It kills people. Sometimes very healthy people. So, just do it.

And while you are at it you should really consider getting the vaccine shots for Pneumonia, Shingles, and HPV if you are at all a candidate for those.

Just do it. I hate attending funerals and making sad emojis on social media.

I was reading an article saying this year it's even more important than usual because it was an exceptionally bad flu this year in Australia. And usually that's a good indicator of the flu over here. One of my FB groups was discussing it and all the anecdotal info were the Aussies saying they were out for a month this time with it.

I'm waiting for my health insurance card to kick in or the public clinic in two weeks, whichever's first, but I'll definitely go get it when the time comes.
Yes, I have a life. It's quite different from yours.

I'm going tomorrow morning. I have to find a time to get my kids in. Poor rooster is afraid of needles so it won't be easy!

Kids are the hardest. Especially if they are terrified of the needle. :(

We're having a health fair at work in like a week or so; I'll get mine then.
