Things involving chain saws are always good.

97 Year old WWII veteran skydives to commemorate D-Day Anniversary.
Did I mention that he's 97? Reading the story, this guy was a bada$$ when he was 22. And he's still a BadA$$.

Nothing makes me feel late to work like seeing the sun on my way in. That was an alarming, strange experience. I actually made it in with 6 minutes to spare.

I make it to work with less than that most days. I try not to hit the door of my office any sooner than 0800 on the dot.

:P

My commute doesn't cooperate with that. Traffic gets really $hitty if I'm as little as 20 minutes later than normal. I try to leave the house as soon after 5:30am as possible, just to avoid headaches. I got lucky this morning, it is Friday and morning traffic is usually a little bit sparse. Afternoon commutes are usually terrible. But I have a solution to that today: Mrs. T is picking me up early and we're heading directly out of town to go see a band. 8-)

Ah yes. The commute from hell. I have to admit one of my 'MUST HAVES" for most of my working career has been a commute that won't turn me into a raving lunatic psycho homicidal sociopathic killer. I live 5.5 miles from my work site. On a really very bad day, it is a 20-minute drive. On those days I only fume slightly. :P

Perhaps I should have said: "One of my "MUST HAVES" for most of my working career has been a commute that won't spiral my raving lunatic psycho homicidal sociopathic killer out of control". roll:

A purebred show quality Pomeranian. She weighs about 4 pounds dripping wet. Three pounds of fur. She was a breeding bitch. We were able to get her for free as long as we agreed to spay her. She is about 5 years old. Apparently, if you are a responsible breeder you retire a dog after she has 3-4 litters. Also, this breeder is downsizing so she can retire.

Our older Pomeranian, Tigger, passed on about a year ago and the younger one we had, Raven, was moping a lot. Brite decided he was lonely.

This breed is rather renown for being yappy. She is amazingly quiet. Probably because she was raised in Russia the first two years of her life. We are a little concerned that ICE will come to deport her.

Update: The boy did his inchworm imitation this morning. Alexa (the new Pom) does know how to bark. She freaked out at the apparition of a blanket covered child inching across the floor.

She sounds almost like a toy.

So, I'm back after a pretty awesome holiday. I actually got back a week ago, but on the day we arrived so did my sister and her family including the cute niece, and then my brother and his wife came for 4th of July too, so had a fun but exhausting week hanging out with everyone. Everyone finally left yesterday and I'm working on some corrections and seeing how the Internet has fared in my absence! Appears to be still here.

So, hi, hope everyone's been doing ok. :)

An exhausting 4th of July week for me as well. We held our 35th High School Reunion. In addition to basically 4 days in a row of reunion activities, I pull the float in the parade. So the previous 2 weeks were spent getting the truck and wagon cleaned up, detailed and ready to go. By Friday night, our semi formal party, I was ready to go to bed. We still had all the clean up Saturday, then a buddy's birthday bar crawl. Then Sunday I had to get regular stuff done that I'd been ignoring. Feel a little better today. Still blowing off my workout tonight for chores and laundry. (And maybe some couch time...)

It's on page four, buried behind NFL news (which isn't even in season.)

Oh wait, that's the coverage in the newspaper.....

Yeah, there's more stuff in the paper and on local sports yelling radio about NFL draft prospects, or the MLB home run derby....
