Boycott?

I prefer the forum style of group internet interaction. I have a login on Reddit but I admit I haven't really figured out how to use it as a forum substitute. I do like Facebook and I keep my posts and information such that I don't care who reads it. Almost all my posts are public.

I think it's like anything, we tend to be comfortable with what we're used to.

I've found my favorite subreddits on Reddit by just typing in various hobbies I have, and then sometimes following to other subreddits that are linked there, etc. For example, /r/amateurradio is by far the nicest Ham radio forum-type place I've ever come across on the interwebz.

Unfortunately though I don't find the astronomy ones particularly useful or interesting for the most part- too much noise usually. And one of the biggest issues with Reddit IMO is the lack of really getting to know people on some places because of the sheer size of how many users are posting.

But then, I am now one of their top users and sold my next piece for Discover based on a popular Reddit comment I wrote, so clearly I'm getting something out of it! But I'll still keep popping into here until the lights turn off, I assure you. :)
Yes, I have a life. It's quite different from yours.

I have a blog on the msnbc site newsvine that I write for (that I m SO far behind on, right now) that I save for my political stuff, FB I save for stalking the kids and grandkids, and I use this to annoy y'all... There are a few other places that I write for to make pizza money... But, I don't know how to use reddit or some of the other platforms.... And I haven't the time to figure them out.....

grapes - just whom are you calling old? are you familiar with the concept of fighting words?

See, swift?

What's that old saying? if you can still do at forty what you could do at twenty, then you couldn't do much at twenty.

I tried to look it up, see who said it, but I couldn't find it. When I was younger, I could've found out in minutes.

I haven't been around much lately online at all.
It's only in the last few days I had time to revisit FB and this place.
It's also a long story for the reasons why but suffice to say that I had the choice to either be online or actually work, I didn't have it in me to do both and still don't. It is getting better though.
So I may not be around much but I am hoping to be around more so soon. As in a few months from now.
Thanks for all the fish.

actual work (much like actual grace) is important as it enables us to pay our bills etc. and, much as we enjoy your posts, how could we enjoy them knowing that they came at the expense of your work?

My parents are dead... does that mean I'm always old or never old?

As I always say "I, for one, welcome our old dead parent overlords".

No wait, the other thing I say is "You're as old as you feel... I'm 143". :P

Like I said to my aunt years ago when she kept asking when I'm getting married and that I'm getting old, "you're only as young as the woman you feel. Yesterday I was 36. Two 18 year old's."
Never had anymore questions after that.
Thanks for all the fish.
