24V transformer => 160VA

Why are they so hard to find in the USA and so damned expensive?
What I need is USA mains to 24VAC @ > 160VA
Cheapest I found is $70 and that took some doing.
Surely there are places that do this sort of thing here.
I know where to go in Oz but have no clue here.

I can get them for under $40 Australian in Australia, so about $2.50 US if we go by our banks exchange rate.
Ooops, sorry, if we buy it in US dollars it's U$240 for the same product going by our banks exchange rate.
