Saw the aurora last night over Dawson City! :cheer: :wave: :rockon:

We didn't get an aurora till our very last night in Alaska. The little hotel we were staying in Fairbanks asked us if we wanted a wake-up call for them and we said yes. Only a couple of minutes after we went to bed we got the call. And they are freaking amazing; you're right they are very hard to describe. The whole sky was filled with these shimmering bands of green light. One thing that surprised me was how fast they change.

I've seen them a couple of times since then, in Ohio, but only as a very faint glow on the northern horizon.
