I'm in Utah, watching the snow falling outside (yet again, they've gotten a few feet in the past week). Injured ankle allowed me a few turns yesterday on the slopes but taking it easy today to be on the safe side- but hey I got a new jigsaw puzzle under the tree, so I'm busy. :)

Merry Christmas everyone!

Merry Christmas to you, too! :D

No snow whatsoever here. 60 degrees and sunny, actually. Enjoying it while it lasts.

(Hope the ankle heals quickly!)

Merry Christmas! I'm relaxing in my home office, at the moment. The rain has finally stopped, and it's cooled off. I can't believe that I was dripping in sweat, in Virginia, on Christmas, but there ya go! We're having a very nontraditional Christmas, but we're all really enjoying ourselves. No drama!

I may start a new puzzle myself.

Happy Yule!
It's 51*, sunshiny here and the kid (Sean) is giggling like a mad fool over his new video game. We work hard at not spoiling him... (no... really...) but as grandparents, it's a hard thing. On the other hand, we can't give him back, so it makes it easier. Fisher is the one that spoils him outrageously, then tries to blame it on me... ;)

Made Yule doughnuts for breakfast, making chicken pot pie for dinner and saving our big Yule dinner for tomorrow night, when Cookie and the Crumb are here to eat with us (is that a great Yule present or what?)

Have a wonderful day, everyone... give big hugs to the ones you love, remember the ones that aren't with you, and know that those of us who aren't so close to you... we love you....

That's because you think you are far enough away to avoid the fall out. :P

There is a distinct possibility that we actually have a tri-brain going.

Belated Merry Christmas or other holiday. Weather was beautiful 14C on Christmas Eve Day, 7C on Christmas Day. Nothing to complain about. The meal I made was delicious.

I've already used up the gift cards and ordered more books, which are now added to my "to read" pile. These books being Inspector of the Dead by David Morrell and Legends by Robert Little.

Hope everyone enjoyed their holidays. Cheers.

I got 2 from the Boulder Brewing Company in CO, and 2 from Flying Fish Brewing in NJ. Was presented with them late last night so I haven't tried any yet.

Very cool!

We gave one of those to a beer loving friend for his 40th birthday (not the full year tho, bc €€€). He then renewed it on his own, so guess he had fun w it. :)

Looks like I get a 12 pack, 4 different brews, from 2 breweries, every other month, 3 times. And like your friend, I'm sure I'll be encouraged to renew. :P

Another cool thing about this, a former Bud-lite drinking neighbor of mine has completely transformed into a craft beer lover. For Christmas he got this big wooden cutout map of the United States. There are probably 200 holes cut out throughout that are exactly the size of a bottle cap. So you put the cap into the map in the state where the beer is brewed. This subscription will give us access to product not easily available in Ohio. It's a win-win.

I wish I could send you some of MrPi's home brews. He's become very good. He usually makes kinds I don't like (IPA, english bitters) so when I taste them I can appreciate that quality, but I don't usually drink whole bottles.

This year I found the best ever present for him. For anniversary (Nov.3)/birthday (Dec.12)/Christmas I got him a whiskey advent calendar. Boy, did he love it. 24 whiskeys, mostly single malt but some blended. Most he had never heard of. The last one was a 50 year scotch. He rated them all 1-10, and the latter got the only 10. Most were 7-8. A couple were 5s, and anything under that he'd consider undrinkable. I tried almost all of them. I don't like most (can you tell we have really different tastes?), the really "pure" ones smell and taste link paint thinner to me. The first one was my favorite. I'd drink an entire shot. (His were all drams.) He gave that a 9. The other one I liked was scorching hot, unlike any whiskey I've ever tried! It tasted like it was made with habeneros. flame:

I think I'll get this for him every year. I know he so greatly looked forward to his whiskey every night, much more than a kid would look forward to chocolate. He got so accustomed to his nightly dose that quite a few times he's resorted to drinking some of our Jack we keep on hand for when my dad visits!
