Well, this is the best photo's I could get. It was a nice little display but not as loud as I was expecting. I do admit we were 10 miles away and that's the closest they would allow.
Still a spectacular sight given the distance.

It was magnificent and the pictures don't do it justice.

Very cool! I always felt the crazy thing about seeing one for me would be how it just... keeps... going. Any truth to that?

Absolutely! We saw it go. Then, we saw the second stage. And it just kept going. In retrospect, it was a bit like a roller coaster - the exciting part lasted about two minutes. But it was a very long and enjoyable two minutes.

The other thing that should have been obvious to us from the start, but wasn't for some reason, is that you see it take off - and at ten miles away, it's way up in the sky before you hear anything. There was something both eerie and amazing about that.

Most surprising is that one time was definitely not enough for me. I want to experience this a few times. I actually shed tears as I watched it shoot into space, because this is one of the best things about what we humans have accomplished and I want to see it continue.

Did you know they're building rockets the size of the Saturn series, and they'll be launching one in November of 2018? We definitely want to see that. Maybe you can too! :D

Very cool. I always wanted to get down to the cape to see a shuttle launch but with my job and the frequency with which the launches were delayed a day or two, it just wasn't feasible.

Just saw this poston Reddit of someone taking a long exposure of the very same launch! Thought you might like it. :)

That's cool. I wanted to do that but we'd need to be on land and have a tripod. We had neither. I suppose I could rig something up to replace the tripod. Maybe next time they have one at night. I'll see if we can be on land rather than on the water.

Wow! It looked like it was going straight up from our perspective, so this picture is pretty cool.
