Blowing up things reminds me of the Polaris ballistic missile I painted with a patriotic design in 1976. I was assigned to a submarine base and they wanted their missile done up for the bicentennial. Unfortunately, I have no photo.

It would be classified information if you did. ;)

Think of it as national " Hey y'all watch this" day. :P

BBQ at my uncle's place with like 30 other relatives, interspersed with time swimming and boating on the water, going to see fireworks by boat in a bit. Glad I'm home for the 4th this year!

Was an absolutely wonderful 4th for us. Actually got to go on a DATE with TAFL. <sigh> It was great. We stopped by and got fast food and sat in a park watching people tee off with disc golf, went and got HUGE ice cream cones and headed home.

Just a couple hours, but since I haven't even had that since I started school, it was bliss.

Hope everyone had a safe holiday.

Had a great 4 day weekend with mowing, parade, breakfasts, car repair, dinner and fireworks with parents, friends in from out of town, and then an epic battle with a bunch of brush yesterday topped by a rare Sunday bonfire. And the poison ivy doesn't look too bad. That soap really works.

I think you defined the American experience in one day!

Except for beer. You didn't mention beer.

I thought that was just a given. Both beer fridges nearly empty by Sunday night!
