Seasons change, and so do I...

We have officially ended the summer season.

The dollar store down the block has gone into full "Back To School" supplies sale mode.

Damn that summer went quick...

I dunno, they always push this stuff further and further back. Someone for example posted recently on the Internet how a store in the UK already has Christmas cards on sale, but that doesn't give me an urge to feel the spirit of the season.

Jesus said he'd be back soon, that was 2000 years ago, so what's a few months preparation for his birthday?

That may be related to the latest trend called "Christmas in July". Google it. Swear to god it's an authentic almost holiday.

Lots of places do that around here. Up on Lake Erie, an entire island has a whole weekend celebration around it.

I don't know about your end of the state, but it sure still feels like summer around here.

The up-side of that is we went out a week ago to this pub/restaurant and I got a very nice class of Great Lake Brewing Company's Christmas Ale (they decided this year to do their own Christmas in July).

Walked into the aforementioned dollar store to grab some vitamins, and did a fourple-take when I saw the one rack up by the front...

"Pre-Christmas Holiday Sale!"

Hahahaha

Saw a rack of Halloween cards in the stationary store at the train station today. This is noteworthy because they don't actually celebrate Halloween in this country.

Perhaps they are hoping to entice a tourist or two.
