Travelogue or waterlogged?

You decide...

We had some heavy rain last Saturday night...these were taken Monday around 3 pm...

This is the high dam upstream of downtown. Normally it's about a 10 foot drop. There's about 3 feet left above water -- if that much...
The thing with the doors across the river is HQ for the Dayton Canoe Club. There's a dock there, about 2 feet out of the water, but
currently about 4 feet under the water...

Image
What park? This is supposed to be Island Park -- the river goes around one side, and a smaller 'stream' around the other,
technically making it an island. Now, the whole bloody thing's a lagoon...

Image
Just to prove it's a city park, here's the band shell imitating a sea shell...

Image
Here's the upstream side of the little 'stream' that cuts across the back of the park. I remember days you could walk across this...

Image
The ducks were having a great time...an unlimited park pass for awhile...

The other side of the 'little stream' made a more dramatic photo.

Image
...and the water shoots out the other side of the bridge...where does it go from here?

Image
All over the other end of the island, inundating the Greater Dayton Rowing Club and Box 21 emergency rescue HQ.

This is Helena Street, looking across the park and the river back to Riverside Drive. No Parking, competitors for the submarine races only...

I've seen high water down this way before, but nothing like this. Gonna be interesting to see how long it takes to drop and dry out...and how much
damage there is to the park and the stuff downstream across the road.

Meh, I've seen our highways as flooded as that, but it's mostly because of clogged drains

That "drain" going under the road is a good 10 feet across...

Which tells you how clogged our city drains are......
