I recall ranting about Republican "spite politics" back on FWIS 2. Maybe I wasn't crazy.
It is great for metaphors, though, isn't it? The Republican establishment are elite Inquisitors, whereas Donald Trump is a goon with a baseball bat. Of course the establishment hates him. Sure, he works on the same principles... but his style is just so uncultured, you know?

Yeah, fairly classic Krugman. Not sure if this is one my Dad passed on to me back then or not.
