At 90. Honestly his has to be one of the most crazy and varied lifes of the last century at least, I need to find a biography of him. I doubt anything will change though as his brother is still in charge.

Btw somewhat related, bf and I are considering a Cuba visit in winter, in the long weekend range. Simple reason, he's coming in late Jan/Feb and turns out there are crazy cheap package deals to Cuba. Seriously considering going seems so surreal though, even to someone like me who's been to all sorts of crazy places!

Last I checked, for a US citizen to visit Cuba they need to have an official reason, like research etc.
It wasn't open to tourism for US citizens. That was the US putting those rules in place, not Cuba.
I haven't checked yet to see if it has changed.

Mind you, IIRC, Castro was a served pall bearer for Trudeau's father.

Apparently, a meme was started on twitter where people created "heartfelt condolences" from Trudeau, for other dictators, despots, etc.

Even if I didn't, I could go pretty easy w the flight from Toronto. They don't stamp US passports and they'd never find out unless you were obnoxious on FB perhaps.

Frankly I just can't think of a circumstance in which I gave money to China when there a month where Cuba shouldn't also be allowed, in terms of a personal moral standard.
