This is very, very impeachable, and happening right now. But expect precisely jack squat to come of it.

Brite and I had that conversation. You cannot charge a sitting president with any crime short of Treason. The only way to charge him with a crime is to impeach him. In order to impeach him Congress would have to vote to do so. Guess what is not going to happen with a Republican controlled congress? That is why it is so very FUCKING IMPORTANT for every ELIGIBLE VOTER to get out and vote. Of the total "eligible voters" Trump had only 28% of the voting populace. A large percentage of the eligible voting population sat with their thumbs up their collectives anal orifice because they didn't like the choices they had. Some part of me really wishes they would be first ones rounded up for the work camps that everyone is sure are coming.

One of the possible picks for head of the Dept. of Homeland Security doesn't believe in due process. Wants people hauled off to Guantanamo for indefinite detention, without the right to attorney, on suspicion of supporting terrorism.

That means you, folks.

Rumor circulating that Sarah Palin is being considered for head of the VA.

What I find a little curious is that she hasn't served in the military. My impression (please correct me if I am wrong) is that VA chiefs, particularly in recent decades, are veterans.

I'm surprised the Trump team couldn't find a veteran who would meet their ideological and kick-back requirements.

As someone on FB said, Palin was C-in-C of Alaska's National Guard. roll:*

*not dissing NG, of course. Just the idea that a failed governor (she quit mid-term) has military experience by virtue of controlling the state's NG.

I'll say it again. He's making choices based on who will make the left-wing the most angry.

He actually seems to be rewarding people who supported him from the very beginning as well. Although I must admit that Elaine Cho and James Mattis both seem like qualified candidates for the positions he is nominating them for. Of course, he has 4500 appointments to make. At least a couple of them might actually turn out ok. :P

Murdering people is apparently okay if they're suspected of being drug addicts. I figured Trump would praise Duterte at some point, and holy fucking hell I hope this is not an omen of what is to come in the US!

Now he invites Duterte to the White House for some time next year. Duterte, mind you, is a mass murderer who has compared himself to Hitler as a boast.

i'm sure that she'd prefer interior(drill, baby, drill) or energy. i'm also sure that she couldn't get through confirmation.

I wonder if her name is being floated so that the actual nominee will appear so reasonable by comparison that criticism will be damped.

will saletan has a terrific (if depressing) column on slate.com in which he talks about trump's decision-making processes and how to influence him.

On the plus side, Palin tore into Trump this weekend about crony capitalism, and not that she's wrong but I take it to mean she didn't get offered anything.

Trump's economic solution: TARIFFS! Huge, patriotic, 35% tariffs! Because, as any high school US History student can tell you, that worked really well last time we tried it.

Someone please give Mr. Trump his pacifier, America wants to get some sleep now... Thx.
