Progress

I'm rewatching the movie School Ties as a bit of "research" - basically remembering how I used to see things, and it strikes me - back in the fifties, it was okay for white men to hate on blacks and Jews and anyone that wasn't them.

It's not okay to do that in public now. Does that mean we've made progress? This is a sincere question.

IMO, hell yes.

Also IMO, what it doesn't mean is that we'll never go back in that direction.

People should not take cultural progress for granted.

Attitudes have changed in something like 90% of the population. Depending on who you ask that is a good thing. :P

In response to both of you - that's pretty much what I thought.

May we continue to move forward in our thinking!
