A couple of times there's been news of Very Conservative politicians discovering they have a gay son or daughter and quickly shifting positions on Gay Marriage.

And then something like this happens:

Jobbik are fucking weird. Sorta like the Tea Party in the USA but pretty upfront about the racism. I saw them demonstrating in Budapest once, and it was pretty much old, fat people (keep in mind, not many fat people in Hungary), sort of like a KKK gathering in the USA now that I think about it.

The issue is Hungarian politics is frustrating as hell, so they do pretty well as a "protest vote" kind of party... plus of course there is just a lot more racism than most anywhere in Europe.

So with all that, while I'm happy he's turned a new leaf, he would've had to have been a pretty big asshole in the first place to join Jobbik.
