Rick Santorum, the former U.S. senator and current presidential hopeful, is a devout Roman Catholic and ardent climate-change skeptic. Santorum now has a message he’s relaying to Pope Francis: leave the science to the scientists.

“The Church has gotten it wrong a few times on science, and I think we’re probably better off leaving science to the scientists and focus on what we’re really good on, which is theology and morality,” Santorum told a local radio show on Monday, according to CBS.

“When we get involved with political and controversial scientific theories, then I think the church is probably not as forceful and credible,” the former senator added.

....

Santorum, who is publicly devout in his faith, has called climate change “junk science” in his previous unsuccessful campaigns for the Republican nomination. In 2011, he said global warming was a “beautifully concocted scheme” by the political left.

So, in other words, leave Climate Change to Scientists, except when they disagree with idiot politicians. whack:

I so completely and totally do not like this guy. I wouldn't trust him as dog catcher. Too cruel and unfair to the dogs.

I think he's more just a good example of how everyone who wants to keep being invited to talk shows and the like in the USA are running for president, even when no one cares about what they have to say.
Yes, I have a life. It's quite different from yours.

I about spit up my coffee when I read that bit about 'leaving science to the scientists'.

The only good thing about Santorum is that he has no chance to win.

The Pope has a chemical technician's diploma and ran and devised experiments.
So, he kind of has a clue about science.
Not to be outdone, Rick Santorum has has had something named after him: http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.p ... fid=942955
Thanks for all the fish.
