That's a horrible idea.

By the time they are in the first grade they should be packing, not hiding under a blanket. That will stop any crazy gunman, a room full of six year olds with semi-automatic weapons.

Sawed off shotguns might be better. Sure, there's a lot of collateral damage but god will sort 'em out.

Nonsense, they're too small to effectively handle semi-autos or a shot gun,

Crew-served weapons. Teaches team work too. ;)
