Flint, Michigan

Has anyone been following this?

Yes, really.

Interesting tidbit, Rick Snyder seems to have some connections to Nestle. You know, the same Nestle whose CEO thinks the US should privatize water because it's not a human right. I kind of wonder how much of Nestle's charity in the situation is actually filthy, filthy opportunism.

I'm also wary of shouting "Conspiracy!", but this started being a conspiracy a long time ago.

I'd rant on (and on), but it's pointless and won't help justice get done. Unfortunately I don't think anything will at this point. I'll send out various letters anyway, but it's becoming clear that some people in this country are basically above the law.

It just makes me want to scream. For whatever good that would do. :(

yes. Rachel maddow's been doing an amazing job of bringing this story to light.

I don't see a conspiracy with nestle. I see incompetence and a pathetic attempt at denying the obvious. as grandma used to say, it all comes out in the wash.

rick Snyder saying, in all wide-eyed innocence, that he'd really like to testify before congress but they just haven't invited him was gag-inducing.

take him and cut him out in little stars

The conspiracy part is that Snyder attempted to cover it up once it was known.

And gag-inducing isn't the half of it. Snyder and his cadre of idiots are going to be responsible for a lot of serious chronic health problems, down the line.

That's just standard sleazy coverup, not so much a conspiracy.

And yes, I've been following it too. I'm still trying to grasp the concept of this happening in the US.

Maybe I'm an outsider but what I've always been lead to believe is this is normal for the USA.
What I find unsusual is that we're getting to hear about it regularly and that there may be a chance, however slight, that someone might be held accountable for it who actually is at least partially responsible for it as opposed to being a scapegoat. set up by the real criminal.
Thanks for all the fish.

We have had these types of issues through the years. Love Canal anyone? Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on who you ask) there rarely is anyone going to jail who really should.

Instead what usually happens if there is any justice to be had is that a very large lawsuit results in a lot of money being paid to to the victims. I am sure you all have seen the ads about mesothelioma and if your loved one suffered etc you may be entitled to a sum of money. That is a direct result of the settlement concerning asbestos.

Flint, sadly, is an example of many things done wrong on many levels. This is one of those times when I hope the "vulture lawyers" are circling and recruiting families for the lawsuits.
