Turns out the state of New Mexico has been falsifying food stamp applications. Deliberately modifying them with bogus assets, so that the applicants would be ineligible for support.

I would expect prison sentences over this, except I'm not actually that naive. Mark my words, there will be zero repercussions. Most especially for the people at the top, who are probably the ones who came up with this scheme (but it's not like we'll ever know).

We don't prosecute people at the top.
They are in that position because they are given the right to override things if they see fit.
