NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A proposal making its way through the state legislature would establish a common-law marriage between “one man” and “one woman.”
Opponents of the bill (HB 233) say it would eliminate an age requirement, and in some instances, open the door for a coverup of child sex abuse.
We need to internalize that this isn't just hypocrisy, it's deliberate. It's a display of power over us, it's an affirmation of their exceptionalist and supremacist worldview, and just as with the Nazis, it is a declaration of what they will do next. When Republicans claim that liberals harm children, they are declaring their own intent to harm children.
