Well that didn't take long. We decided to take a trip on Amtrak with the kids for spring break. 9 hours into a pleasant ride, a man was suddenly standing next to me, shouting across me at my 6yo son, "Remember what I told you. They stole you. They're pedophiles."

And chaser.

I asked my son if he'd seen the man before. He said the man had confronted him when we let him go to the bathroom alone, which he'd been so proud to do @ 1st but too afraid to do again after. Yet *we're* the groomers. I'm livid & ashamed that I didn't notice something was up.

It is projection. Every fucking time. I'm so fucking scared for my LGBT friends who are raising kids, and even more scared for the kids themselves.

The irony of a dude accosting a boy in a bathroom alone worried about gay people is very ripe, and disgusting.

It's also not uncommon. A lot of the men who despise and denigrate trans women in public like to sexually fetishize us in private. TERFs have a reputation for sexually harassing and abusing trans men. Or see sexually abusive (step)fathers who openly joke about shooting their daughters' boyfriends. Or fascists who claim that Jews control the institutions and are plotting their downfall... shortly before taking over the institutions themselves and mass murdering us.

It's DARVO, basically. Evildoers love to accuse others of what they themselves are doing.
