The crazy detail is his defense lawyers sent his text messages for the last 2-3 years to the prosecution, and didn't bother to count them as privileged. I'm torn between wondering if they're incompetent or just hate him that much.

Also, I'll bet good money there are now a lot of other law enforcement folks salivating over those texts...

Wouldn't surprise me if his lawyers do hate him, his conduct in court has been like an overgrown fifth grader. Judge is legit talking to him like a misbehaving child. I haven't seen this strong a case of white male entitlement since Donald Trump, and unlike Trump he doesn't have the money or connections to gaslight a court and get away with it... I hope.

The DOJ and the Jan 6th committee and his ex-wife have all expressed an interest in obtaining a copy of those texts.

Wow... I missed that the child abuse images thing was from June 2019. So what the fuck happened since then? Did the investigation just not get anywhere or...?

Not sure what you mean about the child abuse images (can't find anything on Google), but if you mean the divorce, here is an update. Notably:

Kelly Jones told Insider that after she filed for divorce in 2013, their custody battle for their three children was initially settled in 2017, but she claims that he did not respect parental rights. She claimed to Insider that the phone data could prove that Alex Jones was saying "horrible" things to their children and that he forced them to lie about her in court.

But yeah, Jones being horrible to his own kids also does not surprise me. He's a vile human being through and through, probably only sees them as extensions of himself.

And apparently he also has an actual diagnosis of narcissistic personality disorder...

Oooooh, I see. Yeah, what an awful person.

I mean, I know awful people always existed, but it is so depressing to live in a time when they seem to get such a huge following and no one seems to mind their being awful, you know?

Always has been, sadly. The Internet just makes it faster, and more obvious. But charismatic men just in general tend to be horrible - they're often perfect storms of privilege, power, and invulnerability to consequences, and it doesn't help that a lot of the techniques of mass manipulation mirror those of interpersonal abuse.
