I confess I don't get the point of going to an already-existing town in the US to take it over. Plenty of land in remote corners of the US where you can set up your fiefdom in peace- isn't that what these nutjobs usually do?

Sigma has it right. It's much easier to take over a town that's already established than start your own. I mean, what nazi wants to plan a sewer system and all that?

It has a lot to do with the frame of reference. People like him almost never create. They destroy things. It;s easier for them to conceive of taking something from someone else to start their "brave new world".
