One of the downsides of the instant and comprehensive coverage of news stories around the world, and "user comments" thanks to the internet, is that we are forced to learn that there are way too many fucked up, ignorant, and flat out stupid people in this world.
Not that these things wouldn't happen without the internet. We just wouldn't know about it.
