Tyson Foods reaches a new low

"Tyson Foods managers bet on how many workers would get Covid, lawsuit alleges"

As always it's not even the negligence and casual harm that gets to me, so much as the cruelty behind it; and the fact that the perpetrators clearly knew what they were doing, and laughed and joked about it.

I knew meatpacking was already one of the most dangerous jobs in the US, and Tyson had a particularly bad rep, but this is like... just so far beyond the beyond.

the details are fuzzy but I have a distinct recollection of our current president issuing an order that protected the meat packing companies from any liability for workers who contracted covid and put the workers in the position of being forced to return to work. whether or not the companies had put any protective measures into place.

Yup, Cheeto did that. So I guess the results are predictable. :scream:

The basic thing is that these people are mean. They seem to derive additional pleasure from being mean, spiteful, and vindictive. I knew there were people like this. What is somewhat surprising is that there are way more of them who vote than I realized. :scream:

What is absolutely unacceptable is how many of them are in positions of authority.

I beg to differ. what is absolutely unacceptable is how many of my fellow citizens voted for 4 more years of this.

Good point. It's pretty disappointing that so many people in the US are comfortable with being led by sociopaths. SPECIALLY after what the US claims to stand for.
