Gee, I wonder why. And that's probably why you aren't getting decent support. I hate when companies do that.

Planned obsolescence... It's real. It's here! Invading your consumer products since 1932. :P

The least worst of all economies are those where consumer spending keeps them running. Planned Obsolescence is the side effect of that, go ahead, blame that Pinko Cyrtocommie Liberal known as Franklin Delano Roosevelt for that :P

It is true that if you are going to base an economy on people buying things and spending money you have to give them lots of reasons to keep spending.

You also need to pay them enough so they can spend.
Because that's what makes the economy stronger.

That's where it's heading except it's not royals that own everything, it's businesses that do.
Needless to say, once the breaking point is reached, there will be a new invention that replaces the guillotine.
I just wonder why the hell these idiots refuse to see the writing on the wall.
Thanks for all the fish.

Because most people do not study and/or learn from history. Thus the truism... "damned to repeat it". Every civilization/generation rationalizes that their situation is different "This time". Failing to realize that human nature and immutable laws of nature cannot be changed. It seems that some people really do believe that if you put lipstick on a pig and put it in front of an orchestra it will sing. :P

FWIS:

Start with a rant on a faulty piece of hiking equipment, less than two pages later we're discussing the flaws in human society as pertaining to the laws of nature.

Why did it take two pages?

We are story tellers and we like to develop the plot and the characters. ;)

And set the stage for the upcoming apocalypse that we have manage to stop at the last minute by our mighty and awe inspiring bumbling incompetence.

Also we're all out of practice. FB has taken it toll on refined intellectualism and created a mindless horde of Trump and Hillary worshiping idiots. I mean that in the nicest possible way of course...but wtf America???

This is why Garmin is crap.
Thanks for all the fish.
