I like to read various things on Reddit, and when I woke up Saturday I saw a comment about gamma ray bursts that I needed to clarify. One thing led to another, and I was fielding an "Ask Me Anything" that was on the front page of the Internet- link I'm still fielding quite a few questions actually!
So that's been a crazy fun ride. Now if I was really smart I'd figure out how to capitalize on it.

Hahaha well funny thing, just chatted on the phone with my mom who was suitably impressed but then got an "I hope you are being careful on the Internet because there are strangers there!" speech. Pretty sure she's been giving me same speech since I was a teenager, and don't think she knows much more about Internet privacy and all that since then.

Hahaha yeah, I'm thinking back to my first Internet forrays onto internet message forums and Yahoogroups when I was 13, and figured out that I could just set up a secondary email account which just had "first name, last initial" instead of my full name. With that, in hindsight I probably surpassed my mom's knowledge of Internet security in one fell swoop.
Thank God, btw, I was a lonely teenager but would have been far more lonely without the friends I made online.
