When I give planetarium programs, I take the audience to the Moon and as I fly away I ask "Who was the first person to walk on the Moon," and "What were his words
Every time, the audience knows. Not just one person--usually multiple people answer. I'll ask this question down to about 2nd-3rd graders, and even they know. That makes me proud. Even though it's likely their parents weren't alive to see the Moon landings, kids today understand what an achievement it was.

It would be nice if within my lifetime you get to ask the question "Who was the first person to walk on Mars"

Increasingly over the years, I've come to doubt that I will live to see another person walk on the Moon, or a person walk on Mars, unless Elon Musk gets us there.

Naw, he went to a bar for a beer and he took a right turn at Albuquerque and ended up in Barsoom
