It was more of a "why did I even ever like him" kind of relationship. I actually broke his heart. He was a sweet kid, just not right for me. I remember the moment I decided to break up with him. I was in between my junior and senior years in college, spending the summer in Baltimore doing research at STScI. It was the summer Contact came out and I was at the movie theater watching it. In the scene where Ellie and Palmer kissed, I thought "I never want to kiss Phil again." From there I had to break up with him long distance!

It must be Bill Paxton dying, but I really have had a huge urge to rewatch Titanic recently. It's been a few years!

Fun fact, did you know Titanic had an awful alternate ending? Which Bill Paxton is in? Best acting performance ever! :P

Yeah, I saw an interview where he talked about that ending. And they all decided to keep it much more peaceful and ambiguous. He basically said the story was about Rose and it was better if his character just got out of the way.
