Ah.... no.

My wife actually didn't completely hate it, I guess she liked the acting, even though she also found it boring and depressing. On a scale from 1 to 10, I'm guessing she gave it about a 5, I gave it about a -3.

That a movie could be both boring and nerve-racking was an interesting thing, in a clinical sense (not interesting in a movie watching sense). I don't want to be too much of a spoiler, but I spent the entire movie wondering what horrible thing was going to happen next, and that made me very anxious. I don't like be made to feel anxious (no, I hate horror movies too).

And though it was sad and depressing, it wasn't even a good tear-jerker.

I was just glad to see a movie that wasn't a blow 'em up Hollywood cookie cutter movie. Yeah it was sad and I don't need to be sadder than I am, but I enjoyed the movie. I was relieved at the end. I identified with the main character.

The Kid and I still want to see Split. Also, The Space Between Us. Seems a little quirky and teenagey, but The Kid is still a teenager, part of the movie is set on Mars, and bottom line, if she wants to do something with me, I should do it.

I just need to contact her assistant and see if I can make an appointment. :P

I watched Bridge of Spies recently. Decent if unremarkable movie. Tom Hanks is a great actor, so there's that.

I saw that recently too. A decent docudrama. I think they succeeded in making the audience feel as confused as Tom Hank's character. Maybe why the film had low numbers.

I just watched Central Intelligence. It wasn't what I expected. I expected something cool and funny, but it was more confusing and dorky.

The three of us saw Split Friday and The Kid and I saw "The Space Between Us" last night. I enjoyed Split, the other two spent time with their faces covered. I didn't think it was quite as good as I was led to believe. I was expecting a little bit more, a better plot twist. I won't give anything else away.

The Space Between Us is a cute silly movie that tries to be more. I won't go into all the physics and space travel they get wrong, as well as all the other things that just wouldn't happen. It was a feel good, carefree movie with a little bit of an underlying message it tried to stumble through. After the sad, scary, heartbreaking movies I've seen, this was welcome.
(But I'll deny that I said I liked it. :P )

Did anyone ever see Arrival? Mrs. T and I rented it over the weekend and I enjoyed it. The Kid wanted to see it so she rented it last night and it was unwatchable. I could not stay awake, and neither could anyone else. I'd like to read the story that inspired the screenplay.

I'm confused. Did you watch it twice and liked the first time, but the second time was unwatchable?

I saw it and thought it was great. Of course, I'm an Amy Adams fanboy, so ...
