I don't have much use for Hollywood Personalities. One of the few exceptions was Mr. Gardner. May he Rest in Peace.

Actor, stunt driver (he had a maneuver named after his character in The Rockford Files), hot rodder and race driver (actor in GRAND PRIX, driver in the Baja 1000, and 3-time pace car driver for the Indianapolis 500) and great actor (The Great Escape and Space Cowboys) -- he was always one of my favorites

Yup-, did his own driving in "Grand Prix". IIRC, at some point insurance coverage was pulled. "The Great Escape". "Rockford Files", "Maverick" and many more. One scene that repeatedly comes to mind is from a rom-com with Doris Day, "The Thrill of It All", driving the convertible into the swimming pool.
