This one stings. Makes me feel old.
Loved his music.

No no no no no.......not Joe Cocker. When I was 20 his live rendition duet of Dylan's "Girl From the North Country" with Leon Russell gave me goose bumps. It still does. It's on Mad Dogs and Englishmen. I am going to be listening to it obsessively for the next few days.

I'm not sure I can think of another performer who sang other people's songs quite as well as Joe Cocker. With Joe, we were always Feelin' Alright.

The juxtaposition of styles in Joe's work never failed to amaze me.
Feelin' Alright damn near got me speeding tickets more than once...and
You Are So Beautiful was enough to bring me to tears.
He will be missed...

This is about my favorite Joe Cocker video of all time. As soon as I heard of his passing, I dug it up, and have been playing it for everybody. Rest in Peace, Wonder Boy.
(note: I was sure I got this posted last week, but I guess not.)

Pulled out his "Legends" cd. There is a reason many considered him the greatest cover artist. RIP.
