Blackberry Smoke

Liked 'em for a while. Seen 'em three times in the last year or so. I'm becoming a huge fan of Charlie Starr's songwriting and lyrics. They are so much more than a "Southern Rock" band. Usually the lyrics are about the last thing I explore in a song (Please don't tell Neil Peart.) But I'm all over the words in BBS's latest album.

I don't hope to create any new fans. We all have our individual music tastes on the board. I just wanted to take this opportunity to express that listening to their music moves me and makes me happy. :P
Though I would be happy to discuss or direct anyone to a sampling if they had the interest.

Are they a regional band in your area?

Naaa, they're out of Georgia, been around over 10 years or so. They do tour internationally. But in today's pathetic radio world, you'll almost never hear them on commercial radio.

I'd call them a cross between Lynyrd Skynyrd, Allman Brothers, and Led Zeppelin. But I wouldn't want to prejudice anyone who doesn't care for those bands. :P
