Writers strike

Looks like we may be headed for that one again.
I for one welcome the next wave of reality TV surging again... Damn, I can't even write that with a straight face.

If it happens, it will be a very different strike from last time. A good portion of the original shows from places like Netflix, Hulu and Amazon are written by non-union writers. I suspect that's one of the things they want to negotiate.

Netflix has stated that it will significantly impact their production.

I figure the late night talk shows will be hurting. I read/heard somewhere, last time around, Letterman was able to continue, due to the set up he had (his own production company). Since his retirement and Colbert taking over, production was moved back in-house at CBS.

If it goes on, like the last one, then shows that are part way completed run the risk of being completed by different writers or get hurried/lousy scripts to complete and ready to air. Hopefully, much of the summer production was completed before the stoppage.

Oops, nevermind, I just checked a stoppage has been averted. :oops:
