RIP Gregg Allman

Postby Thumper » Tue May 30, 2017 12:12 pm

Well, this is getting old. Yes, it's not a stretch to hear that a career alcoholic and drug abuser leaves us before he hits 70, but that doesn't make it any less sad for me. The number of bands and musicians influenced by Gregg Allman and the Allman Brother's Band is staggering.

Dan Rather has a series called "The Big Interview." It's a one on one with big name celebrities, often times musicians. I really enjoyed his chat with Gregg Allman.

I think we are hitting that age where a lot of the iconic people we grew up with are hitting their "Use By Date". :o :P

When these people die in their 70's and 80's, we get a little sad and reminisce about their careers and what they meant to us. It also makes us feel a little old. But when they die in their 40's or 30's or :o 20's  it's absolutely tragic.

That's as it should be. There is something perverse about people dying too young. 20 year olds should not die. Why, you are practically still 10 feet tall and bullet proof at 20. ;)
