I've seen the movie. Excellent, I thought. They didn't go over top Hollywood on it with stupid action scenes and stupid irrelevant stories. Instead, we got some pretty interesting threads punctuated by intense scenes. I particularly like the RAF action. Riveting.

I will probably wait to see it when it comes out on streaming video. I really want to watch it.

Theatre experience was riveting. Screaming Stuka dive bombers were menacing. On more than a couple occasions The Kid visibly jumped from a loud explosion or collision. But like Geo said, not over the top, all CGI completely unrealistic effects. Well done.

I really want to see it, but damn it been enjoying the summer weather too much! Maybe next week.

I'll probably see it sometime. A couple of years ago on the 75th and earlier on the 70th anniversary (probably earlier too), there was coverage of the flotilla of "Little Ships" crossing the Channel, marking remembrance of the evacuation. A quick search shows, this has been done every 5 years since 1970. There was a 3 part documentary on Dunkirk, done by the BBC, some years ago.

This is worth watching. 93 year old Canadian veteran who was at Dunkirk after he saw the film.

Saw it today myself finally, and liked it. Definitely not a typical war movie- felt almost like a documentary at parts, and pretty artsy. But definitely worth seeing.

What I found interesting was they also showed a trailer here for "Darkest Hour." Basically seemed to be about the same era, but following Churchill around. Guess it's a popular topic!

They had a special screening of "Dunkirk" at Cinesphere, followed by a 20 min. Q&A with Christopher Nolan, during tiff (Sept 10th). Tickets were free, I didn't get one, Cinesphere has a six story tall 70mm Imax screen.
