Tin Star is an Amazon series, mini-series, whatever. Exceedingly tense drama centered around a British cop who moves his family to a small town in the rural Canadian Rockies, taking the job of Police Chief. It's filmed in High River, Alberta and the scenery is spectacular.

The story is about a group of British bad guys who want to kill the cop for something he did back in England. The cop, marvelously played by Tim Roth, is an alcoholic which plays a big part in what he does in reaction to the threat.

I haven't seen Tim Roth in anything else I don't think but he knocks this role out of the park.

Not family-friendly, in any sense of the term.

Sounds fun! Might have to check it out.

I have another show to put on the list to try to get to. I think I know what I will be doing part of the time when I really retire.

Tim Roth is an excellent actor.

In his early career Tim Roth seemed like an inevitable superstar to me. Something must have gone wrong behind the scenes. I will check this out.

I'd still like to know about Tim Roth though

I poked around a bit with a search: 'Tim Roth career', but came up empty. I think he's just an actor that does work we wants to and isn't trying to be the greatest movie star ever.

Yeah, I saw that. Taking the Severus role would certainly have boosted his career but apparently he had already committed to Planet of the Apes.

I find that hard to brlieve since Rowling has gone on record that Alan Rickman was her inspiration for Snape.

From what I'm reading, while Rowling had influence in choosing the actors, the producers had the final say. So perhaps Roth was under consideration for the role even if Rickman was the preferred choice.

Well I'm happy it was Rickman. He had a way of making assholes sympathetic and maybe Roth could have done it but I'm really sympathetic to writers getting what they imagined as we all kniw how rare that is.
