Soylent Green is Corporations!

Postby Swift » Thu Aug 07, 2014 1:55 pm

You know, I was just thinking (Women and Children to the Lifeboats!)....

The US Supreme Court has been ruling lately that Corporations are people (they have Free Speech, they have Freedom of Religion). Shareholders own Corporations. Does that mean that Shareholders own people? Wouldn't that be slavery?

If one Corporation does a hostile takeover of another Corporation, is that murder and cannibalism?

If two Corporations merge, and they are in a state that prohibits same sex marriage, do the Corporations have to be different genders? How does one define a Corporation's gender? Do we get to look at their naughty bits (or is that pornography)?

I guess that Anti-monopoly laws are sort of the equivalent to laws against marrying your cousin or your sister.
