Knock, knock

My five year old granddaughter is currently a big fan of "knock knock" jokes, like most five year olds. Her favorite is some usually some variation on the "Interrupting Cow" theme. Just in case there is anyone out there who hasn't heard it:

Knock knock!

Who's there?

Interrupting cow!

Interrupting cow w--

Moo!!!

The different versions tend to feature different interrupting animals, and, of course, we laugh obligingly. However, yesterday's version caught us off guard:

Knock knock!

Who's there?

Interrupting Donald Trump!

Interrupting Donald Trum---

TWEEEET!!!!!

Her mom thinks maybe they need to spend less time talking politics in front of the kids.

We do the chicken-crossing-the-road variations in our house. These are our current favorites:

Why did the rubber chicken cross the road?

Why did the squirrel cross the road?

Teach the kid to sing "Rockin' Robin" and then take the show on the road.
