Dal

Postby Cyborg Girl » Sat Sep 07, 2013 5:06 pm

Just finished making some red lentil dal, using a spice mixture based on FZ's lamb curry. Turmeric, paprika, garlic, ginger, cumin, cayenne, and a touch of anise. (No prepackaged curry spice.)

Turned out absolutely delicious. I think I'll avoid using the packaged stuff from now on.

This evening I tried something different... Dal paprikash! Red lentils and barley with onions and shitaki mushrooms; spiced with garlic, paprika, sage, cayenne and black pepper, and a teaspoon of soy sauce. Turned out really good, believe it or not.

I believe it.
I've been meaning to make some dal myself for a while now.
Best I get to it.

Glad to see you liked the curry enough to make some yourself.
Its always better than the prepackaged stuff.

That reminds me, I need to give brite the recipe for that curry.
