The United States Department of Education released a tweet that misspelled the name of W.E.B. DuBois as it attributed a quote to him. It then released a tweet apologizing for the mistake, misspelling "apologies."

The Republican National Committee released a tweet celebrating Abraham Lincoln's birthday with a quote wrongly attributed to the 16th President. In fact, it's not even clear if it was ever a quote uttered by a prominent figure or just an advertising buzz phrase. Never the less, it seems it would have been easy to research. Backlash on the internet was relentless. Jack Pitney tweeted, "@GOP Dudes, when I was acting research director at RNC, we checked our facts." Bill Kristol tweeted, "The Party of Lincoln tweets fake Lincoln quote (it's not hard to find good ones!), & it's an utterly banal quote to boot. All's well w/ GOP!"

Oh wait, that's not XOF, that really happened. Sorry.

As a side project for charity Whitney wrote and recorded vocals on an anti-bullying album "Cap Dat Bully Son" though children's music is not a style she is known for, the strong lyrics and mature content resonated well with children, especially those from Cripps & Bloods households. The Album went on to win a Grammy Award at the 54th Annual Grammy Awards for "Best Children's Album" as well as Parent's Choice Gold Award in 2012.

XOF Goes to the Oscars

With the alacrity of the internet, less than six hours later, the presentation of the 2017 Oscar for Best Picture to the wrong film has already engendered multiple conspiracy theories, some amusing, some amazing, some why-dinn't-I-think-of-that:
1) It was a cheap stunt to create "oscar buzz" for next year's show
2) It's the Willie Nelson curse, part of his undisclosed settlement with PwC
3) It was the ghost of Edwin Waterhouse, upset that they lowercased his name
4) The PwC computers were hacked by the Gates Foundation, because they lost their money in Brazil
5) It was done by some of Jon Corzine's New Jersey pals, for bankrupting MF Global
6) One of the junior auditors lost a bet on the Super Bowl, all they had to do was mix up an envelop, no one knew that Faye Dunaway lacked impulse control

7) It was an homage to Steve Harvey.

That last one reminds me of my friends ex girlfriend. She got married to someone else and they guy couldn't handle her crap (she was nasty and dumb). Instead of asking for a divorce, he told her he had a new goal in life. he wanted to become a professional soccer player and was moving to Greece to follow his new dream.
I asked my friend, how good a soccer player is he? The response, he is 30 years old and never played the game! rofl

XOF More Medicine

As a follow up to our story on homeopathic beer, we have to add this cautionary tale, wherein hundreds of teething babies were subjected to homeopathic toxic levels of belladonna:

https://www.statnews.com/2017/02/21/hyl ... thing-fda/

You'd think that "homeopathic toxic" would be an oxymoron. The exceedingly low level of homeopathic "active" ingredients is the main reason that the FDA has stayed off their case (leaving it to caveat emptor, or better, to another oxymoron, foolish reason). Some people don't even think to report homeopathic medicine use when they are seen at clinics.
