Been a while, and noticed this room, which I hadn't seen before.
My current games:
Far Cry Primal
Fallout 4
Diablo 3 (still)
Playing alternately on my MSI Apache or my custom made desktop.

I 'need' to restart my gaming habit but don't know what platform to get. I've never heard of MSI Apache.

The platform to get may really depend on which games you want to play the most. Some games are exclusive to specific platforms. The Halo universe for example can only be played on a PC or the X-box platform.

Good point. I'd need to do some research. I'm not really interested in high-intensity warfare games. I'm more of a Myst guy, although you don't (didn't) really need a gaming box to play that sort of game, just a PC. I'm not sure what's available in games these days.

I've been playing an on-line game lately called TrainStation. Yes, I like playing with trains.

The good news is that Microsoft has started moving back to more cross platform games. I.e. if it plays on X-box they want a version for the PC. I have also heard they are discussing having more cross console compatibility. But, I think that is more for online gaming with multi-players.

Is this something that you should discuss with a therapist?

Loved Fallout 3, but it has a hard time on Windows 10... I.e. it doesn't run. At all.

I have my PS3 specifically for the Fallout games ad DCUO. I can't get Winblows 10 to run the either.

Alienware is probably pricier. MSI is from origin a motherboard maker, Dell a computer assembler. Both know good hardware.

So, I see this game
http://ethancartergame.com/and think it would suit my fancy but the specs say I need a graphics card with 1GB RAM. I don't think my POS Gateway even has a graphics card.

There is a cheat code for that.

And being a Gateway it is highly unlikely that you can add one. It may be time to buy a new PC or Laptop that is configured for gaming.

I think I can. It's got slots and things.

Depends on the version you have. Gateway did a lot proprietary stuff. They were trying to be the next Apple.
But, definitely do some research and you might get lucky.
