The Rules

Here are the rules. Don't like them? Don't hang around.

It's Iky's way of saying you are expected to defend yourself if you start a topic.
Bit like BaBB. Making a claim is ok but you really need to be able to support your position.
There are no limits on what claims you can make, so unlike BaBB, it can be anything.
Thanks for all the fish.

That isn't what he wrote. And if that's actually what he meant, then I don't understand why it's necessary and From Where I Stand I don't think it should be a rule. If I want to post something and then leave the room, I will. If that upsets the dragon lord, then maybe we need to part company.

I'm a regular member of CQ (it hasn't been BaBB for a long time) and I like the rules there. But this isn't CQ.

Pretty sure that's what he meant but I'm assuming it was for people that do things like one post wonders and never come back.
We've had a few of those over the years.
Not the same thing as regular members.
But yeah, it needs clarification.

New rule:
The rules need to be clear and concise!

Second (well sort of)

I'm with geonuc on this. I'm not sure why we need this, or exactly what it means. And people who are one-post-wonders don't pay attention to rules anyway.

If this is serious, and it is going to be enforced, I may have to modify my participation. I wrote several posts in politics that are probably violations of this rule.

I don't know if he's serious or not, but as long as I'm here, it's not going to be enforced. Gauntlet thrown. ;)

I especially can't enforce a rule that I don't understand. :D

On a more serious note, this place is called From Where I Stand not From Where I Defend. It's not a scientific board, and I see no reason why someone has to defend every claim they make. Sometimes, we're just giving opinions and chatting.
