Actually, yes. Most likely my favorite movie of all time.

Had to call it quits due to dehydration. I've been down that road a few times and I'm always better off to call it quits, rehydrating and tackle it later.
The alternative is to keep going, get totally fatigued, lose fluids and salts, get muscle cramps and a migraine that takes two days to go.
At the end of it a few days later I'm still dizzy and not feeling good.
So I just don't do that anymore.
This morning I'm feeling only a little tired, a few back cramps but overall pretty good. Way better than the alternative.

Another thing about my son. His best friend at day care is a girl.
I don't know why that pleases me, but it does.

Nope. :P
I have to meet the landlord there tomorrow. i spent much of my day out of the restaurant today getting frustrated at other things.
Ah tomorrow. No more restaurant as the landlord is happy to leave things as they are. He was even before I did any work but is much happier now.

You're kidding right? I didn't even get a snip of of snippiness. If anything I was making too much fun of something you were serious about.

I was referring to how i is the square root of -1 in math and science, but in engineering they call it a j.

My dad and I have had more than one joke argument about this. :ugeek:

no, i was quite serious. once again, i'm serious and someone thinks that i'm joking. tell a joke and nobody laughs. sigh.

Stands for nothing at all.
As electrical engineers use I and i to represent current and its so widespread they needed another letter for to represent a mathematical complex number variable.
They simply picked the next one up.

Trust me, when you have a long string of maths and you're dealing with voltage and currents and AC theory where complex equation come in, its really damned confusing having two i's. :D
Its however both fun and easy to send lecturers nuts by doing so and still keeping the maths straight to get the right answer. Another tried and tested technique brought to you by FZ. :D

I am in Rome this weekend! Months ago when the weather was awful I found a cheap budget flight for ten weeks in the future and bought it on the grounds that I would have a weekend of summer to look forward to (was last here 4 years ago, but can't say no to Italy!). And holy hell I was right- it hit 82F/ 28C today, and I forgot how hot that is in a city!

Climbed up St Peter's Basilica to the cupola for an amazing view (and said a prayer for my grandmother at Pope John Paul II's grave which is now in the main building- I'm not religious but she's very Catholic, so why not) and now that the heat's dying down I'm gonna go see what's going on at the Spanish steps. I have super awesome cute Italian sandals that I bought for 30 Euros that I am way excited about.

Roman Ruins tomorrow I think- done the Forum/Colosseum four years ago so think I'm gonna see if I can head down to the Via Appia or something slightly off the beaten track.

Paul and I loved Italy - Florence was the best but Rome is certainly impressive (or 'spectacular")

Back to reality at work.

cid, Italian guys these days are rather different than their fathers were and I haven't ever really had issues with them. I think they're just a lot more direct when in a bar or whatever and that's why girls get offended these days.

Trish, I agree that Florence is still my favorite spot in Italy, but flights directly there are never cheaper than US$300 (and are often even more...), Milan you can get cheap budget flights to but flight+train from there= not totally realistic for a weekend getaway. Shame that. :(

I mentioned elsewhere that our recent venture practically turned me into an alcoholic. I'm happy to report that I'm now having the glass or two of wine with dinner that is healthy for a woman, and leaving it at that. I'm also back to working out - got a really fantastic boxing workout for the Wii, and I've lost four pounds - just from eating less and not pickling myself in vodka.

Of course, this does mean my tolerance will have lowered for the FWIS Fwy, but we all know that's a good thing.

We did visit Bath briefly, but didn't really have time for the ruins. However, we did see Hadrian's wall, and that's Roman ruins too. ;)
