We all need to hear it... here's the place to share it...

Sort of reminds me of a large engine with a seat installed just behind it.

It's a good idea, but...
...it wasn't unusual for me to put 100+ miles a day on my bus...and you just try shoehorning an entire high school
football team onto a short bus... ... :nono:

Gas prices to drop?

Postby cid » Tue Nov 12, 2013 12:28 am

They already have around here...

We're down to $2.95/gal in town, and $2.93 in the north suburbs...

Doesn't bother me a bit...

Ah yes...reminders of my misspent youth...
Image

I was 21, lean mean Air Force green, and just full of p1$$&vinegar...
Saw it at the bike show at the armory in Marquette, and it had a trophy and a for sale sign on it...but not for long...

1967 BMW R60 with a 1968 twin-carb VW transporter engine in it. Only took a 5-inch stretch in the bottom frame tubes and
a 1" adapter between engine and transmission. Stock clutch -- and ya hadda kick start it.
Low beam in the fairing, hi beams on the pegs, turn signals in the ends of the bars. 50+ mpg on a 6.5 gallon tank.
2000 rpm at 60 and she'd run that way all week. Summertime in Michigan's UP...pine forests and open roads...
I gave the local chiropractors more business...tooling down the street, people would hear VW, but saw the bike
go by, and they'd wrench their vertebrae looking for the car.

Gotterdammerung didn't I have fun with that thing...sigh...

Where I go and what I do

Postby cid » Sun Jan 05, 2014 3:20 am

I'm just in the mood to post.

Here are me and N8RXR on duty at the 2013 US Air Force Marathon.

In front of the Dayton Amateur Radio Assn club station W8BI and newly-built clubhouse.

Image
On the riverbank during the recent heavy rain/flooding in the Miami Valley.

Image
On duty (notice the el cheapo flashing light on the roof) at Xenia OH's 'Santa Run' -- a 5k the week
before Xmas (and yes, they ran, even in this freezing slop)
Image
...yes...yes they did...

Image
A bit tough to see, but there me beauty is, festooned with all the blinking emergency lights I had
for the 2013 Resolution Run in Beavercreek. Brings in the new year with a 5k. There are no street
lights out there, so volunteers line up their cars at critical points and light things up so people
don't step off the road never to be seen again...

I've got so much stuff stashed in the cab of my truck I forget until I pull it all out once in a while for a good cleaning. I look at the pile on the drive and wonder, "How am I going to get all that stuff back in there?"

OMFG, the Brits are now competing with the Yanks on boys for toys.
Soon the Japs will enter the race.
The winner of those bouts will have to go to Australia for a title match! lol
