Life's little things

I thought I'd start a thread to keep track of the good things that are happening in our lives, or small moments we want to treasure.

My son likes to help me pick out what to wear in the morning. He often selects something MrPi has gotten me. They both have good taste.

Along those lines, even when life gets really shitty, my kids are still always doing amazing things. When I get in to bed at night, I reflect on the highlights of the day instead of sweating the difficulties. I think it helps me get to sleep faster.

thank you. i think that we all need this.

i remember the time i was asked about elliot shortly after he was born. i gave a *very* brief summary. my questioner replied, 'just the ordinary miracles of everyday life?' i was gob-smacked. what a beautiful phrase. yes, the ordinary miracles of everyday life. we shouldn't take them for granted. i know that some people are contending with heartbreakingly awful situations and i do not wish to make light of them but there is so much beauty and wonder around us. and people can be very kind.

We've had good weather for a week now, and about a week ago I bought a sun lounger for my terrace. OMFG this is AMAZING!!!

I have tickets on Thursday to see Domingo, yes, of Three Tenors fame. Exciting!

The fact that Fisher came home from DC on Friday and says he still likes me is a good thing too... Makes running away together over the weekend a nice added bonus.. ;)

Of course the dogs won't be speaking to either of us when we get home...

I am not sure we still qualify as "young love" But, I will take the implied compliment in the spirit it was offered. :D

of course you do. just consider the way you & brite act. the very epitome of young love.

furthermore, i have been told, more than once, that age is just a number. so you might as well pick one that you like.

The correct saying is, you are only as old as the woman you feel. :P

I do but I think I lost about 5 pounds in sweat due to humidity and heat.
Good news is that the apt is almost complete.
I've installed a false rafter to cover up the electrical work.
Varnished it, finished almost all the painting. Just a second coat on some things required.
Cleaned out most of the apt.
Tomorrow I have a big clean out session which will be about 4hours and the touch ups, about an hour and I'm officially done! :D

The apartment has no air con and the rain here lately has made things extremely humid. Now the heat is in its high humidity, no breeze and high heat.
Had to call it quits due to dehydration. I've been down that road a few times and I'm always better off to call it quits, rehydrating and tackle it later.
The alternative is to keep going, get totally fatigued, lose fluids and salts, get muscle cramps and a migraine that takes two days to go.
At the end of it a few days later I'm still dizzy and not feeling good.
So I just don't do that anymore.
This morning I'm feeling only a little tired, a few back cramps but overall pretty good. Way better than the alternative.
