A couple of reasons to smile (for me anyway)

We all need to hear it... here's the place to share it...

A couple of reasons to smile (for me anyway)

Postby Hap » Fri Aug 09, 2013 6:16 am

My beautiful bride and I will be celebrating 17 years of matrimonial ups and downs this Saturday, and we can still stand each other. Heck, most of the time we actually like each other.

The other bit of positivity is the reduction of my A1C from 8.3 to 7.5 in 6 months. Now to keep up that trend and get down closer to 6.

Congrats. I know for me, marrying my wife was the smartest thing I've ever done, hands down.

Excuse my ignorance, but what is "A1C"?

Yup, and for those not in the know, the goal is to get it below 6, but most of us are happy if we can get it to 7 or below.

You know, actually I don't do much of the sugar free products out there. I find that subconsciously it makes me feel like I can eat more of it. Now I will have the occasional bowl of ice cream, piece of pie or cake, etc., and just eat a reasonable portion (like 1/2 cup of ice cream) and give myself the appropriate amount of insulin for the carbs. I have also been working with an endocrinologist to adjust my pump settings to help eliminate the wild swings in glucose levels, and while it is going to be a lifelong process as my body changes and metabolises things differently than it used to, it is definitely showing positive results.

On the top of a tall building in a large city, there was a bar. In this bar, a man was drinking heavily. He would ask the bartender for a tequila shot, then walk out to the balcony and jump off. Minutes later he would appear in the elevator and repeat the whole process.

This one guy watched this happen a number of times until curiosity got the better of him.

Finally he went up to the man and asked, "Hey, you keep drinking, then jumping off the balcony. And yet, minutes later, you're back again. How do you do it?"

"Well," said the other man, "the shot of tequila provides buoyancy such that when I get near the ground, I slow down and land gently. It's lot of fun. You should try it."

The guy, who was also quite drunk, thought to himself, "Hey, why not?"

So he goes out to the balcony, jumps off, and seconds laterhe has splatted straight onto the ground, stone dead.

The bartender looks over to the other guy and says, "Superman, you can be a complete as*hole when you are drunk"

I think I need to correct your grammer

"been like" is ok

but"are like" is more appropriate

and yes I know... I still owe you for borrowing your wife ...

Did you give her back, and what was the interest rate on the deal?

Don't think your grammar diversion is going to distract me from collecting on that debt. ;)
