Date night (um afternoon)

We all need to hear it... here's the place to share it...

Date night (um afternoon)

Postby Loresinger » Sat Aug 17, 2013 3:08 pm

I am taking Iky out for a dinner to celebrate the good news. Nothing fancy - just to get out and do something that has NOTHING to do with medicine for once.

I never realized how long five months could be. Can't believe how grey my hair got (yes, I know it's vain but its an observation).

My goal is working enough on the 2nd job to do this once a month together - no kids, no tests ... just us. He picks the venue. Sadly the restaurant he would have liked to eat at no longer exists (hugs) but I think that he's really hip on never-ending shrimp (good protein and not a hideous price).

I was so happy that he is finally wanting to do stuff like this. When I talked about it last time he took it as an insult (ie. why do we need to date?). My thought is we need to get to know each other again in THIS reality, and keep doing it as things change. A once a month touchstone isn't ridiculous - be it a movie, comedy club, or food or an event.

The news Thurs gave us both a moment to breath, and by gods I am going to use that to keep things moving.

You kids better not stay out too late, we'll worry.
Never, ever forget: we did this. This is what we can do.

Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has. - Margaret Mead

Well, the old folks say
That ya gotta end your date by ten
If you're out on a date
And you bring it home late it's a sin...
